On the Fourth of July 2026, the United States will celebrate Independence Day with flags, fireworks, military parades, and glowing remembrance of a national birth two hundred fifty years ago, when its people claimed civil liberty from British rule.

By contrast, the modern history of the Church of God—known as the Ekklesia, the called-out ones—reaches back about one hundred years. Yet this centennial stands under a different measure and a different light.
